Luzchem Xenon Photoreactor Systems provide powerful broadband irradiation for photochemistry, photostability testing, and solar simulation experiments. These systems use high-intensity xenon lamps that produce light across the ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared regions, closely replicating natural sunlight. Designed for research and pharmaceutical laboratories, the Xenon Series offers flexible irradiation platforms with integrated safety features and precise exposure control. The series includes the Solsim2 solar simulator, the LZCX-ICH1 ICH-compliant photostability reactor, and the LZCX-Xe xenon photoreactor for general research applications.

Type: LZCX-ICH1
The LZCX-ICH1 Xenon Photoreactor is a certified system designed to meet ICH Option 1 guidelines for pharmaceutical photostability testing, providing reliable and reproducible light exposure for regulatory studies. The unit utilizes a high-performance 300 W ozone-free ceramic xenon lamp that delivers a broad spectral output from approximately 320 nm into the near-infrared region, closely simulating natural sunlight while minimizing ozone production. The system includes all filters required for ICH compliance, along with a shutter, dimmer for adjustable light intensity, digital countdown timer for unattended exposures, and a rear bulkhead connector for controlled gas introduction. A safe exhaust system and UV-protective safety goggles are also provided to ensure secure laboratory operation. As part of the certification process, each unit undergoes mapping of the energy distribution within the exposure chamber to verify uniform irradiation and compliance with ICH photostability testing requirements

Luzchem’s Xenon Photoreactor Series provides high-intensity broadband light sources designed for advanced photochemical research, solar simulation, and pharmaceutical photostability testing. Xenon lamps are widely used in photochemistry because their emission spectrum closely resembles natural sunlight, producing strong radiation across the UV, visible, and near-infrared regions.

These systems are built around air-cooled ceramic xenon lamps that deliver stable and reproducible illumination for demanding laboratory applications. The xenon light source can be combined with optical filters and accessories to tailor the spectral distribution and irradiation intensity for specific experimental requirements.

The Xenon Series reactors include a variety of integrated features designed for laboratory use, including digital timers, safety interlocks, optical filters, and power measurement systems to ensure accurate control of irradiation dose. Closed photoreactor chambers provide safe and controlled environments for experiments involving high-intensity light sources.

The Luzchem Xenon Series includes three complementary systems:

  • Solsim2 – A xenon solar simulator designed for experiments requiring controlled sunlight simulation.

  • LZCX-ICH1 – A xenon photoreactor certified for ICH Option 1 pharmaceutical photostability testing.

  • LZCX-Xe – A versatile xenon photoreactor for general photochemical research applications.

Together, these systems provide powerful solutions for laboratories working in photochemistry, materials science, pharmaceutical stability testing, photocatalysis, and solar energy research.
